Ok, I have been reading through everyone's blogs, comments, and the conversation on the wiki page. It definitely sounds like we need to start get the ball rolling on some of these awesome ideas. I hope that in class Monday we can throw out our ideas and get a class consensus on what we are actually going to do. It's time to solidify a schedule like Ana had mentioned.
So, I want to share some thoughts:
GRAD SCHOOL IS HARD! You guys, I get overwhelmed on a daily basis and this particular class makes me especially nervous. I had the opportunity to take classes similar to this one during my undergrad. I really love community involvement, fundraising, and working amongst student groups. Honestly. However, this semester I feel almost too caught up in my frighteningly difficult graduate classes to really give our projects my all. I obviously don't want to flake out and not engage with our class. I know we are all busy and very involved in different stuff on and off campus. I just know that I personally need accountability. Meaning - I need to be corresponding on a weekly basis, discussing projects in person out of class, texting/calling. Let me know your thoughts.
Hi Christy,
ReplyDeleteYes, I definitely understand where you are coming from. We need to solidify our goals and our proposal. Time is of the essence and it is imperative that we do our jobs to make sure our goals get done. Also, my individual project and proposal depends on what we agree on as a whole since I am targeting the social media aspect of it and it goes hand in hand.
As for communication out of class, that is also very important and sort of necessary to do with the type of work that we will be undertaking. I'm glad to know that you took part in something like this and have an understanding of it-- maybe you can guide me and help me grow. I understand that a lot of this is very autonomous and it is something that we have to manage. The project will get done, we just need to actually start on it!
Hi Christy!
ReplyDeleteI understand your situation! Trust me. It is hard. I can barely breath with all my student involvement. You are not alone. We have each other to learn and grow as leaders. This week we did not have a blog prompt; but it is always good to write about our experiences and share how our feelings with other great empowering leaders. We are here and we will definitely keep each other accountable.
I concur. We need accountability to ensure we are able to do our project.
